Evesham Teramedia

Verdict

A whopping 1.45TB of storage is the highlight, and Evesham takes full advantage by building the Teramedia around cutting-edge technology and using Windows Media Center asthe operating system.

Inside, we appreciate the 420W Tagan power supply, and there's room for a couple of upgrades too. You can add two more 5.25in drives, despite having a 16x dual-layer DVD writer and 16x DVD-ROM drive in place, and there's space for two more sticks of memory as well. Note that only one PCI Express 1x slot is available, the other one being filled with a modem. External expansion is well catered for, with a total of two FireWire ports, six USB 2 ports and a handy removable card reader that slots into a 3.5in bay.

As with all Evesham PCs, the Teramedia is also well supported. Big Fix provides automatic alerts for updates to your system, there's telephone customer support on Saturdays, and for the first two years you're covered by an on-site warranty. It all adds up to not only a great proof-of-concept but also a superb PC. If you're willing to overlook the foibles we've highlighted, it's worth the high asking price.
