Overall Rating
6 stars out of 6

Running the Yesico in the PC-V1100B case for a few hours, we came back to find its amber warning LED and the emergency case fan we'd set up were both on - but this is hardly surprising. Moving the PSUs to a fairer test rig based around Cooler Master's Wave Master case, both fared well. They do get hot in use - the Yesico more so than the Silentmaxx - but not so hot as to cause us any worry about them bursting into flame or causing the case to melt.

We'd still be a little reticent about using either of these in very power-hungry systems, but for an average workaday machine, these supplies are heaven sent. We give the Silentmaxx a Most Wanted award for its integrated emergency fan and sheer over-the-top engineering, but either will be the answer to your acoustic prayers.
