There's an LCD screen on the top, which is used to display auxiliary information about compatible games. Even the mouse is a specialist: the wired Logitech G9 laser mouse retails for around £50 including VAT, has replaceable weights and instantly-adjustable sensitivity to give you the edge in games. It's nerdy, but it underlines an important point about the Fusion: it's perfect for gamers.
Despite all this, the Fusion doesn't quite get the lead slot in the A List. It does offer significantly better hardware than the Chillblast Fusion Spitfire - most notably twice the hard disk capacity, a 2in improvement in monitor size and a 5.1 surround sound set of speakers compared to the 2.1 setup of the Chillblast.
However, the premium is nearly £400, and, in most cases, the extra performance won't tell in applications or games. If you're after the best value, the Spitfire is the best choice, but it doesn't mean we're not deeply tempted by the Fusion's all-out appeal.
