Chillblast Fusion Juggernaut

Mind-blowing performance at a not unreasonable price, and the rest of the bundle has the quality to match

Two free DIMM slots allow for more RAM than the included 4GB, although you'll want 64-bit Vista if you intend to add any - a full gigabyte of Home Premium 32-bit's 4GB maximum allocation is already taken up by the graphics card, so only 3GB is actually usable.

There's plenty of upgrade potential, although it may not be called into use for a couple of years, such is the potency of the Juggernaut. Four extra hard disk slots can be used to augment the generous 750GB Samsung SpinPoint disk, and three further 5.5in slots seem ripe for a high-definition optical drive to go with the DVD writer.

Peripherals haven't been neglected, either. A Razer DiamondBack mouse is a superior choice when compared to standard offerings, coming with a sleek ergonomic design and satisfyingly responsive buttons. The Saitek Eclipse II keyboard is meant for gaming, hence the fancy blue backlight, but it's fine for daily use as well. The sound quality provided by the Creative T7900 7.1 speakers is decent, if a little unspectacular, and will easily handle games, movies and music.

So apart from the apparently superfluous sound card, it's hard to find fault with the Chillblast Fusion Juggernaut. Its performance is quite simply record breaking, while the bundled monitor and peripherals are of an equally high standard. And the £1,318 price tag is the icing on a ludicrously tempting cake. As such, it takes a fully deserved place on the A List.
