Chillblast Fusion Venom
Verdict
With four GPUs and a massively overclocked CPU, its immense power more than masks its few foibles.
Review Date: 2 Apr 2008
Price when reviewed: (£1,199 inc VAT)
Overall Rating

There's no doubt that this is a supremely powerful machine, especially for the price - but remember that £1,021 includes only the base unit, not a monitor or speakers. By comparison, £22 less would buy you the recent PC Specialist Apollo Q6600GT, with its capable 8800 GT graphics, a 22in monitor and 5.1 speakers. And the previously-mentioned Dell XPS 630 offers similar value when you take out the price of its included 24in monitor.
Given these alternatives, and the fact that the Chillblast has so much crammed in that it can't help but be a noisy beast, its appeal will be limited to real performance junkies rather than mainstream PC buyers. Adding the cost of a monitor and peripherals will also put many off, but no other PC we've seen can boast the sheer brutish power of the Fusion Venom.
