Acer Veriton M460

Verdict

High power consumption and a cramped case undermine and otherwise underspecified business PC.

Review Date: 19 Feb 2008

Price when reviewed: (£587 inc VAT)

Overall Rating
4 stars out of 6

It's comparable with other office-orientated machines we've seen in the past. The price tag of £499 is on a par with the Medion MT 487G, which also offered a quad-core processor, and also that of the A-listed HP Compaq dc7800 Ultra Slim (which featured an Intel Core 2 Duo).

If you're after a business machine with a bit more grunt than your average office workhorse, then the Acer is a worthwhile purchase. The quad core processor motors through office tasks and the price is reasonable.

But the cramped case and high power consumption are concerns that just won't go away, and ultimately prevent us from being able to award a wholehearted recommendation.
