A good value machine, but cutting costs has impaired performance and component quality.

With these components and the AMD K5 processor inside, the Fox didn't show up too well when it came to benchmarking. This can mostly be attributed to slow graphics, a slowish hard disk and the AMD processor. While the Fox comes with all the components you'd expect to find in a multimedia PC, if it's a sub-£1,000 bargain you're after, there are better machines to be found in this month's Labs on page 66.
