iGo/ThinkOutside Stowaway Sierra Bluetooth keyboard

Verdict

Review Date: 10 Nov 2006

Price when reviewed: (£80 inc VAT)

Overall Rating
4 stars out of 6

Unfolding the Stowaway from its 128 x 90 x 23mm closed configuration initially gives an impression of fragility - and you do need to be careful not to stress it in the wrong directions. Once open and locked, though, it's easy to use and makes for speedy typing. We had no trouble pairing it with a PDA over Bluetooth using Windows Mobile 5's standard HDI drivers, and there's no need to re-pair the devices after switching them off and back on. Battery life from its single AAA battery is a claimed 90 hours of continuous typing and over a year in standby. The two drawbacks are price and weight: at just over 300g, it's heavier than the PDA you'll connect it to.
