LG's GSA-4120B stormed our DVD-writer Labs last month, thanks to its all-format support (including DVD-RAM and DVD+R9 dual-layer discs) and its very low price. Already, though, LG has upgraded the DVD+R spec to make it a 16x drive rather than a 12x. We measured the average speed of writing a disc at 11.6x - one of the fastest around. Performance moves up to 5 stars. Unfortunately, the software package has degraded a little to simply Nero Express 6 and CyberLink PowerDVD. But the increase in price of only £4 ensures that it stays on our A List.
