PC Power & Cooling Silencer 750W

Verdict

Review Date: 25 Feb 2008

Price when reviewed: (£96 inc VAT)

Overall Rating
5 stars out of 6

Another supply with plenty of headroom is the PC Power & Cooling Silencer 750W.

This is unusual in doing away with rails altogether, delivering its full +12V power down one 60A line.

This gives you more flexibility, as a power supply with three 20A rails couldn't drive four 13A devices, whereas the Silencer can.

Unfortunately, this flexibility doesn't extend to the cabling, which is all captive rather than modular.

Despite its high current, the Silencer averaged 85.3% efficiency in our tests - one of this month's best scores - and, like the Corsair, it comes with a five-year warranty.

It lives up to its name, too, pushing out a barely audible breeze and rising to only 31C at 100% load.
