As a simple way of getting video files from the PC to the TV, this little USB 2 hard disk is all but idiot-proof. Drag files to it in the same way you would with any removable hard disk drive, then hook it up to your TV via the scart, composite or component video outputs. It contains video-playing firmware, bringing up a menu listing all MPEG2, DivX and xViD files, and also supports MP3 playback. The £119 price is a little high for a 160GB disk, but the quality through even the scart connection is excellent. The remote is flimsy and unresponsive, and the drive itself is a little too loud, but it beats burning your clips to DVD.
