Midi-tower cases
Thermaltake Mambo  [PC Pro]
COMPANY: Thermaltake PRICE: £23  (£27 inc VAT)
RATING: ISSUE: 163  DATE: Feb 08

If the thought of blowing £40 or £50 on a case leaves you cold, there are cheaper options available. But the £23 Thermaltake Mambo (fifth from left) cuts too many corners to be a sensible choice.

The front door is one of the flimsiest we've seen: depending on where you push it, the latch varies between working correctly, jamming the door, and refusing to close at all.

Quick-release buttons adorn the optical and floppy bays, but oddly not the hard disks, and there's a solitary 120mm fan at the rear to keep the air flowing, which could be a concern.

The side panel is the only one here not to use thumbscrews, topping off a cheap overall feel.
