Most portable speakers we've seen are either small and sound terrible, or too large and unwieldy to bear the name. The BlackBox Mini is different: it's small and light enough to stick in most bags (even some large pockets), and undeniably cute with its glowing touch-sensitive pause/play and volume controls. It will play music transmitted from any A2DP Bluetooth-compatible MP3 player or phone, or through a 3.5mm input on the rear, while power is supplied via mains, a USB connection or four AA batteries. Sound quality is never going to be ground-shaking from such a small device, but the side-firing 4W stereo speakers are capable of delivering pleasingly loud, distortion-free music, making this a must for any music lover's briefcase.
