With a design straight from 1970s sci-fi, the A826 couldn't look much less like a thermal inkjet printer. There's a USB socket round the back, but no PC is needed to select, edit or print - just use the excellent 7in touchscreen, memory card reader and stylus to crop, add effects, clip-art, captions or even doodles. A hundred sheets of 6 x 4in photo paper can be loaded at a time, taking just over a minute to print at default quality, and emerging with vibrant colours and sharp detail. Traditional photo printers are available for less money, but don't offer the same kind of convenience and simplicity as the A826. With prints costing less than 13p all-in if you use the value ink and paper pack, it's a good option, but check out the cheaper compact photo printer alternatives such as Epson's PictureMate 240 (web ID: 116942) before committing.
