With enough surface area to cool a car engine, and measuring 175 x 124mm across the top, the GeminII is one of the largest processor heatsinks on the market. It comes without a fan, but the idea is you mount either one or two 120mm units on the rails provided. It's compatible with Intel LGA 775 and AMD AM2 sockets, but its size means the heatsink may foul other motherboard components. Our test board was an Intel 975 XBX2 and there were no installation problems, but it completely blocks access to the RAM, so if you were planning to upgrade do so before you fit the GeminII. Once in place it's very effective: with a single 120mm AcoustiFan fitted, our test quad-core QX6700 CPU never rose above 50°C.
