Jumping the gun

Steve Cassidy finds that in times of recession there's no middle (sized) ground, and looks at a monster server out of a datacenter manager's dreams.

Postscript: sadly, the monster machine in question was sent back before I could try putting a Windows server build onto its RAID array, but based on the kind of blazing performance I get from far lesser SATA RAID cards under Windows, I'm pretty confident it would have turned it from a tortoise into a hare.
