Telegraph site defaced in Top Gear ‘gypsy’ row

Two subdomains of The Daily Telegraph’s website have been defaced by Romanian hackers.
A gang calling itself the The Romanian National Security Group (RNS) claimed the attack, complaining about allegedly offensive remarks made on Top Gear that branded Romanians ‘gypsies’. Co-presenter James May is a columnist for the newspaper.
A message scrawled in Romanian on the sites loosely translates as: “We are tired of seeing how some 'garbage' like you try to mock our country and you create a completely different picture [of us] compared to the real one, calling us 'Romanian Gypsies' and broadcasting shi**y shows like Top Gear. If you have the nerve to anger an entire country, know that we will not stop in Romania.”
A sentence written in English concludes the message, saying “guess what, gypsies aren't Romanians, morons”. The script includes a link to the infringing Top Gear episode on Romanian YouTube – labelled the “attack on Romanians” and displays another message against the show complaining about the presenters’ remarks.
A screenshot of the image was put on Sunbelt Software’s blog, which found the images displayed on shortbreaks.telegraph.co.uk and wine-and-dine.telegraph.co.uk/site/index.php.
Both sites have been temporarily taken down and The Daily Telegraph was unavailable for comment at the time of publication.
Incidentally, the Romany people – often referred to as gypsies – don't originate from Romania, but are thought to come from either central Asia or the Indian subcontinent.

Hehe
Never had any love for Top Gear, like to see them taken down a peg or two. Remember the time that twat Clarkson posted his bank details saying how there was no risk and then someone posted a standing order in his name for £200 or so.

The Cowardly Lion Effect
Think it through a bit Windy old son. This isn't an attack on the Top Gear site. It's not even by gypsies, nor yet by the Roma (the ethnic group most often identified as "gypsies" within Romania, and subjected to shocking maltreatment by the Romanian majority) - it's just by "Romanians". This incident looks "backwards" to me - First these guys discovered an open site, then they thought up a cause to hack it for. Sneering at Top Gear for something irrelevant to the perceived insult is a huge missed point error. Think about it: these guys cracked the site of a top-line national newspaper - one with a big, recent investment in New Media. Frankly, a dimwitted insult (which reads to me like Romanian nationalists not liking the idea of any association with "gypsies", not defending them...) is the least of our worries.Smarter hackers would have left a nice unobtrusive drive-by infection. I'd put up with a lot of Clarkson, Hammond and May if their final effect is to irritate juvenile hacks to the point that they show their hand, instead of trying to steal my bank details.

Really?
Seems you have something in common with the Romanians then windywoo. A lack of humour. Oh, and nice job commending them on their illegal activities, who is the twat exactly?

Bodragon
I've made the comment several times on the Daily Mail news pages that the Romany Gipsies do not originate from Romania but fell on deaf ears. I assume my comments were read but they were never published by the moderators. Well they're the stupid ones...
