Senior Microsoft executives will face the House of Science and Technology Committee to answer questions as part of the House of Lords Internet Security Inquiry.

Jerry Fishenden, National Technology Officer and Matt Lambert, Government Affairs Director at Microsoft will appear this Thursday to give evidence to the committee, answering questions on what it has done to protect Windows users online and its co-operation with competitors in safeguarding people online.

The executives will also offer advice on what the technology industry can do to protect the public from 'Internet-based criminals'.

A later session will also seek the views of IT security specialist Adam Laurie and Red Hat developer Alan Cox.

Earlier this year, the committee took evidence from bodies trying to stop the abuse and exploitation of children via the Internet.
