Adobe agrees to distribute Google Toolbar 12:10PM, Thursday 22nd June 2006
Adobe has signed a multi-year agreement with Google to distribute the Google Toolbar with various Adobe products.

From today the toolbar will now be offered as part of the Shockwave Player installation process for Internet Explorer on Windows, and will be bundled with other Adobe product installers in the future.

The toolbar adds a Google search box to a Web browser plus features designed to make browsing more efficient, such as instant suggestions as you type in the search box, a spelling checker and a pop-up blocker. The toolbar can also be customised by adding buttons for favourite sites.

'As leaders in our respective market categories, it's fitting for Adobe and Google to work together to improve the ways customers engage with ideas and information,' said Shantanu Narayen, president and chief operating officer at Adobe, adding that he expects agreement to generate significant revenue for Adobe.'

Google Toolbar is also available for the Windows version of Firefox from toolbar.google.com.
