Internet Explorer browser usage dips again

Internet Explorer's share of global browser usage is now firmly below 90 per cent, but its decline has slowed considerably in the past two months.
The latest figures from OneStat.com put IE's share at 86.63 per cent, down from 87.28 per cent in February. Prior to the November 2004 launch of Firefox, IE's share was around 95 per cent.
Firefox now has an 8.69 per cent share while Apple's Safari is firmly established in third place with 1.26 per cent. Netscape and Opera have slightly over one per cent each.
'It seems that the rapid growth of the global usage share of Mozilla's Firefox is slowing down at the moment,' said Niels Brinkman, co-founder of OneStat.com. 'It looks like users of Internet Explorer for Apple's Mac are switching to Safari because the global usage share [of Safari] is still growing.'
