That's no Etch-A-Sketch, that's my WebPAD 12:31PM, Friday 13th October 2000
Wander about the house as you may, you need never be away from the Internet with Honeywell's WebPAD.

You can surf the Internet, send and receive email, and enter information via the wireless touch screen display, as long as you stay within 150 feet of the base station with a broadband Internet connection.

With a touch-screen display, the device weighs under three pounds, is about an inch thick and has the dimensions of an A4 sheet of paper.

"Technologies in the home continue to converge, allowing the integration, monitoring and controlling of key home functions via the Internet," said Honeywell VP Jay Schrankler. "The Honeywell WebPAD will be a fundamental component in this convergence - permitting wireless Internet access today and a wide range of wireless home control capabilities in months and years to come."

Honeywell claims the keyboard-optional device is the first portable net appliance on the market, but see also our report on the Sony Airboard, which should be launched in December.
