SanDisk and Super Talent have announced replacements for hard drives using Nand memory.
The LifeBook P1610 is a convertible touch screen notebook and the LifeBook B6210, weighing in at 1.45kg, is a touch screen notebook. Both will be offered with two flash-based SSD configurations, 16GB or 32GB.
The company said solid state disks offered lower power consumption, higher reliability, and improved performance.
The company also said that using flash memory would decrease start-up times for the laptops. It said that the disks used in the computers read two times faster and write up to 60 per cent faster than other hard drives. And the laptops would generate no heat be half as heavy as laptops using normal hard drives.
