PS3 buyers to bag Blu-ray Bond 3:04PM, Friday 16th February 2007
Sony has announced that the first 500,000 PlayStation 3 owners to register on the PlayStation Network when the gaming console launches in Europe will receive a special edition Blu-ray version of Casino Royale.

The most commercially successful Bond film of all time will come on a 50GB dual-layer Blu-ray disc encoded in MPEG-4 AVC, complete with a collection extras in 1080p high-definition video and uncompressed audio.

The PlayStation Network will provide access to a number of interactive features, including free online gaming, tools for staying in touch with friends and content for download through the PlayStation Store.

'All this, and more, will enable users to experience a whole new world of interactive entertainment, and that is why we are offering the phenomenal incentive of Casino Royale, on Blu-ray disc, to PS3 owners who register on the PlayStation Network,' said Darren Carter, VP Brand and Consumer Marketing at Sony Computer Entertainment Europe.

The PlayStation 3, complete with Blu-ray drive, launches in Europe on 23 March 2007.
