Goodbye Savastore, hello Saverstore
Defunct web retailer is back in business - following a subtle name change
Electronics retailer Savastore.com has risen from the ashes - in the subtly disguised form of Saverstore.com.
Savastore ceased trading in February, after its parent company Watford Electronics was bought out by Globally Ltd - a company which trades from the same address as Watford and is run by Mahmood Jessa, a former logistics manager at Watford.
Now the Savastore.com domain is redirecting visitors to Saverstore.com. The new site's Company Information section states: "After a full review of business and technical processes, the site has been reopened under the new name, Saverstore.com." Customers can still use their log-ins from the former site.
Saverstore looks almost identical to its predecessor, although it's making bold new claims, such as "We only sell environmentally friendly products."
Mahmood Jessa wasn't available for comment at the time of publication, and a phone number and email address supplied by company employees for Mr Jessa weren't working. It's still unclear what will happen to customers with outstanding orders from the former site.
There have also been fresh developments at former Watford Electronics subsidiary, Redteninternet.com, the company that offered so-called 'free PCs' to customers signing up for three years of broadband access. A company spokesman told us that Redten is "looking to change the offer. They'll probably revert to a broadband-only offer." However, he said he couldn't categorically confirm that this would take place.
We'll keep you updated with any developments.
