Microsoft is on target for the 24 April launch of Windows Server 2003. Microsoft says the code is now finalised and has been released to manufacturing with the CD production process traditionally taking a couple of weeks.
Features of Microsoft's new server software include built-in support for the .Net platform, improved Active Directory handling (the core authentication and security engine), and increased support for clustering and file-system management.

The Windows Server 2003 press launch will also coincide with the official launch of Visual Studio .NET 2003 and a 64-bit version of SQL Server 2000.
