Plastic Logic's long-awaited eBook reader will be dubbed the Que, and officially launched at CES in January.

Full pricing and availability of the device, which measures 8.5 x 11in and is "less than 1/3-inch thick," will be revealed in Las Vegas, where Plastic Logic will be aiming to make the most of its business credentials.

To that end, the Que supports PDFs, Word, PowerPoint and Excel documents, and features Wi-Fi, a 3G connection and a "shatterproof screen" - a feature the company hopes will appeal to businessmen who are constantly on the move.

The Que will be facing off with Amazon's Kindle DX, however, Plastic Logic has made much of the Que's touchscreen which will allow people to flick pages with a swipe of the finger and annotate documents. There’s also a virtual keyboard, for those unconvinced by stylus input.

It will be interesting to see how the touchscreen technology affects the Que. The touchscreen coating on Sony's Reader Touch caused a great deal of glare, undermining the reading experience.

Quesimodo?

Is it a funny angle, my imagination, or do the new images show the device as having aqcuired a serious hump on its back?
