Google begins major UK ad push

Google has launched a major ad campaign in the UK, as it looks to spoil Windows 7's coming out party.
The search giant has famously built its business with very little advertising, however, the company's new campaign intends to illustrate the point that two million businesses have migrated to its online software.
Under the slogan "Gone Google", the company will attempt to convince customers of the benefits of cloud-based software. For example, the advertising around its email offering claims "Day 9: Email inbox is full. Grrr!!! Go Google?".
Another states "Day 15: Attaching documents is so 1990s. Go Google?".
There are 21 different ads which be displayed at train station and airport billboards, print ads, and websites including the FT.com and Times Online.
The campaign represents by far and away the largest ad push ever undertaken in the UK, and comes ahead of Microsoft's high-profile Windows 7 launch on Thursday.
Google has not revealed how much it is spending on the campaign, though it has been designed in-house by the Google Creative Lab team led by former Ogilvy & Mather executive Andy Berndt.

That's strange. The pain with attaching files to emails with online systems is the main thing keeping me with desktop-based email. I know they are suggesting you should just send links to online docs but that doesn't work for files that have originated on the desktop - photos being the main one. I'd far rather attach a photo to a desktop email, hit send, and then have the system take a couple of minutes to upload the photo in the background than spend two minutes waiting to attach it to an online email system BEFORE I can send.

Nothing wrong with the cloud concept 'cept for the rubbish broadband speeds in the u.k. Perhaps the big G people have forgotten that or perhaps that part of the ad-campaign brief is still uploading...

Every thing google does MS does better
What people need to realise is that MS can do all the online documents stuff that Google can do but better. All the functionality you get in your regular desktop app is lost with google but MS have made it so you can see and do exactly the same on desktop, online document and now phone! Its pretty awsome!

...and a Microsoft employee joins the forum.
I use Google docs because the styles don't change my language from English to american.
More seriously, no chance of Google writing a cross platform offline google docs is there? Using CSS just makes so much sense.
