AMD is bringing its latest processor, chipset and graphics technology to its commercial "Business Class" range.

The Business Class tag, introduced early last year, refers to systems that benefit from a two-year lifecycle guarantee that enables companies to plan their technology rollouts. The CPUs in the range also offer AMD’s virtualisation technology AMD-V, while the chipsets support DASH 1.1 for out-of-band manageability and TPM 1.2 for security.

Together these form the DAS 1.0 standard, which is intended to provide AMD customers with an open-source based alternative to Intel’s vPro remote management platform.

In addition, the Business Class platform now supports Windows 7, including its virtual XP Mode.

The new processors on offer include the Phenom II or Athlon II, the latest AMD 7-series chipsets and HD 4000 series graphics.

"AMD Business Class technology for desktop PCs provides our OEM customers with superior value and flexibility, enabling them to deliver advanced system security features and energy efficiency for quiet computing that businesses need," Chris Cloran, general manager of AMD's client products, says in a statement.

The new Business Class platform is now available in HP’s Compaq 6005 Pro business PC.

The updates to the Business Class platform follow the announcement of the company’s Vision platform for mainstream portables.
