Capgemini selling Google apps to big businesses
Posted on 10 Sep 2007 at 11:04
Capgemini is to start selling Google Apps to its corporate customers.
The deal is a boost for Google as it attempts to diversify away from its core businesses of internet searches and advertising.
The software as a service (SaaS) market is predicted to grow rapidly with Gartner estimating 25% annual compound growth until 2010.
Capgemini says partnering with Google will enable it to extend its portfolio of desktop solutions and help support more office staff. The Google Apps package includes Docs & Spreadsheets, Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Talk and Start Page.
"Incorporating Google Apps Premier Edition into our offering is yet one more way that we are helping our clients adopt technological innovations within a robust and tested framework," says Paul Spence, Capgemini global outsourcing chief executive.
