Adobe has unveiled six touchscreen applications for tablets, including a touch version of Photoshop.

The apps will be available on iPad and Android tablets, and work with fingertips or a stylus. They follow the release of the Adobe Touch SDK in April and a trio of apps for working with Photoshop via tablets in May.

Adobe Photoshop Touch includes some of editing options available in the full version, such as working with layers and applying filters, as well as tablet-only tools. For example, Scribble Selection "allows users to easily extract objects in an image by simply scribbling on what to keep and then what to remove," Adobe said.

Adobe unveiled a further five apps. Collage is to help "creatives capture and refine ideas" by bringing together multiple types of content onto one canvas, while Ideas is a vector-based drawing tool and Kuler helps create colour themes.

Debut is a presentation app to show off tablet-made creations, and allows notes to be taken directly onto projects. Proto is for developers, letting them make interactive wireframes for websites and apps, directly on the tablet.

The apps will arrive on Android first, in November. Ideas is already available on the iPad, but Adobe won't announce iOS availability for the rest until the beginning of next year. The price for each app is $9.99.

The apps are backed by Adobe's new Creative Cloud, a web-based system for storing and sharing content, as well as syncing between devices.
