Easynet has announced that it is creating a series of wholesale broadband products that will give ISPs an alternative to BT.
Under the LLUStream banner, Easynet will allow ISPs to offer a range of DSL services, from services up to 8Mbps for residential users to uncontested ADSL and SDSL lines for business.
Easynet claims that, for mass market volumes, LLUStream is up to 35 per cent cheaper than BT IPStream and Datastream services.
Justin Fielder, business development director of Easynet Group said, 'Easynet pioneered local loop unbundling in the UK, and access to this infrastructure will enable the acceleration of innovation from service providers who currently only have access to the BT Wholesale offering. Both consumers and businesses will benefit from increased quality, speed and value and we can look forward to a raft of new services delivered across the copper network.'
LLUStream will use a combination Easynet's extensive national backbone, metropolitan fibre network and local loop unbundling installations. It currently covers over 4.4 million homes and half the businesses in the UK.
