Demon Internet and Virgin.net are the latest ISPs to take advantage of temporary BT price cuts and waived their set up fees for broadband installation until March 31st.
The move follows BT's decision in December to halve the broadband installation costs from £50 to £25 between January 10th and the end of March.
For the next three months a Demon broadband connection costs just £24,99 per month for self install. If you wish to include a PC compatible Alcatel Speedtouch 330 modem, this will cost another £85. Mac users will need to spend £99 for a Mac compatible Hermstedt modem. Included in the price is the 500kb/sec download speed, unlimited email addresses and 20Mb of disk space.
For business users, Demon says that the savings are even - up to £250 - with prices starting at £75 a month.
The Virgin.net offering on a self install system is also a £24.99 monthly fee. If you want a modem, that is another £79.99. The Virgin offer is PC only as the ISP claims "compatibility problems" with the Mac.
