The much-heralded Palm Pre will hit US shelves on 6 June, though there's still no word on a UK release date.

The smartphone will be priced at $200 in the US on Sprint's two-year Everything Data contracts, which start at $70 per month. There's also a $100 mail-in rebate voucher. Unfortunately, there's still no word on a UK release date, price or carrier.
Intriguingly, the 6 June release date is only two days before Apple's Worldwide Developer's Conference keynote, at which the company will almost certainly unveil the third-generation iPhone.
The Palm Pre has been turning heads since its debut at CES in January and sports a number of nifty new features. Among those is Synergy, which will amalgamate contact information being pulled from different sources - say Google Mail, Facebook and Outlook - into a unified listing.
Unlike the iPhone, the Pre is capable of running multiple applications at once, allowing users to flip between them like a deck of cards.
The Pre also offers a combined messaging service that presents all conversations from the same person - whether they were in an IM client or SMS - in a chat-view style window.
