Virgin offers cable customers mobile broadband for £5

Virgin Media is offering select cable customers access to its newly-launched mobile broadband service for £5 per month.
Customers on the company's XL or L cable packages, or those on ADSL Bundle 1, will be eligible for the £5 deal. They will have to sign a 12-month contract, pay £25 for the USB modem, and are restricted to 1GB of downloaded data a month.
Customers on Virgin's M or other ADSL packages will receive the same deal for £10 per month.
Non-Virgin customers are charged £15 per month for the company's mobile broadband, although they benefit from a more generous data cap of 3GB per month.
Virgin is, of course, a virtual mobile network. It's mobile broadband services piggyback on T-Mobile's network.
Virgin's move is the latest example of company's using mobile broadband as a sweetener for landline services. Last month, BT began offering mobile broadband as a "free" add-on for people on its business broadband tariffs.
