Novell and Microsoft 'agree to disagree'

While a licence tweaked in that manner might put the kibosh on the Novell Microsoft deal, it would need the software to be licensed under it to be effective. And there's little enthusiasm to move Linux onto GPLv3 at the moment.
Lowry told us: 'We're not going to speculate on what might or might not happen regarding GPL3. We've been involved in that process and continue to talk with Eben Moglen and others who are also participating. We'll see what emerges from that process and act accordingly.'
