Sony releases big-small USB stick
12:35PM, Thursday 6th July 2006
If you find those USB sticks a touch on the weighty side to have to drag around with you, Sony may be able to help.
With more than a Gigabyte to every gram in the highest capacity model, the new Micro Vault Tiny weighs just 1.5g, with capacities from 256MB to 2GB.
It is also capable of packing in even more data, with on-the-fly compression and decompression routines built in. Sony claims this can boost the data hold by up to three times.
It's physically small too, at a quarter of a centimetre thin, and roughly three by one and a half centimetres in length and width.
Connection to a computer is of course via USB 2.0.
