A spokesperson for the Italian-owned ISP said that 'the ability to provision and service a high volume of broadband customers is yet to be proven'.
Tiscali said that Carphone Warehouse is in a 'chicken and egg' situation.
'It has an ambitious LLU investment plan but only 75,000 broadband customers. It will have to grow its broadband base dramatically to justify the investment and conversely it will be some time before it has the LLU coverage to break even with these customers...'
The ISP also cautioned against thinking of the broadband part of the service as free.
'The truth is nothing is ever really free. Customers will have to make a decision on three services,' it said. 'You will have to move your line rental away from BT and will be tied to a monthly voice subscription - that's a minimum monthly spend of £21, with additional call charges on top of that.'
Carphone Warehouse introduced the all-in-one service earlier today.
