Ears grow free with kids' MP3 player

A German company has introduced a portable music player designed especially for young children aged six to 12.
In order to protect kids' hearing, the maximum volume of Maxfield's MAX-JOY player is limited to 60dB while the headphones have been designed 'not to interfere with developing ears'.
The player has a rugged dirt, water and impact resistant outer casing assembled with safety screws designed to prevent 'little fingers' dismantling the unit. It has extra large keys engineered to be easily controlled by children's fingers and an extra-luminous two-colour OLED display.
Music and audio books are stores on the integrated 256MB Flash memory that can be expanded up to 2GB via the SD/MMC card slot. The player supports Windows DRM for compatibility with most digital music stores, though not iTunes. One AAA battery provides up to 19 hours of continuous play, though perhaps not if the player is filled with DRM-restricted tracks.

UPDATE: The product is now available to order from the following sites: www.whirlwindsales.co.uk and www.mx2.co.uk.
