MSN gets a little bit political with Tony Blair

Posted on 16 Mar 2006 at 12:34

Tony Blair has a reputation for favouring the Richard & Judy end of the political interviewing spectrum, rather than tackling the likes of Paxman or Humphrys. But how hard could public questioning over MSN be? We will find out when the Prime Minister makes himself available on Microsoft's MSN Messenger service.

Microsoft UK has launched a competition to give ten people the chance to put questions live to the PM at 10 Downing Street, with details available at www.msn.co.uk/pmwebchat. Note, however, that the questions will be restricted to two topics: the 'issue of Africa' and the 'issue of climate change'.

The video conversation with the Prime Minister will take place 4 April.

'It's an honour for everyone at MSN to work with the Prime Minister on this unique competition,' said Chris Ward, Commercial Director, MSN UK. 'Events like these will become commonplace as the internet plays an increasingly important role in political debate.'
