Jennifer Clason, of New Hampshire, USA had been running a successful Internet operation for more than seven years, as well as a website offering support to mothers looking to work from home.

Quite the entrepreneur, she also claims to run more than 10 other online sales sites.

But after more than half a million complaints from AOL users, Clason pleaded guilty in an Arizona court to two counts under the CAN-Spam Act, and one count of criminal conspiracy.

The 33-year-old mother agreed to turn in the cash money made through spamming and faces up to five years in jail for each offence.

She pleaded guilty of conspiring to transmit spam emails containing graphic pornographic images and will be sentenced 5 June.

Also named in the case are Jeffrey A. Kilbride, of California, and James R. Schaffer, of Arizona, who are due in court 2 May, having pleaded guilty to aiding and abetting the sending of spam containing graphic pornographic images.
