F-Secure defends itself against email virus campaign 2:55PM, Wednesday 1st February 2006
F-Secure says an email virus campaign has been launched with the goal of besmirching its name.

The Finnish company says that thousands of emails have been sent out with spoofed 'from' addresses from F-Secure domains and infected with a new variant of the Breplibot worm.

The email claims to come from one non-existent F-Secure employee 'David Adams, Dept. Research, F-Secure Development'. The email text claims that the recipient's site is incompatible with the Mozilla browser and urges the recipient to view a screenshot of the problems in the attachment, which contains the virus.

F-Secure says it has updated its customers to protect against the attack.
