BBC preps Bluetooth broadcast 3:13PM, Friday 25th November 2005
Radio 1 will make the BBC's first Bluetooth broadcast on Sunday, at the Chart Show Live event in London's Shepherd's Bush.

The audience will be able to download interviews, pictures, backstage footage and exclusive video content to their mobile phones.

'Radio 1 recognises the increased importance of delivering its content to a young audience on mobile platforms,' said Daniel Heaf, interactive editor of Radio 1 and 1Xtra. 'I'm really looking forward to offering all our event-goers exclusive backstage content while they're at the event. I see this as one small part of our digital future.'

The Bluetooth broadcast follows the successful launch of Radio 1's mobile website, which garnered half a million page impressions in October. The WAP site offers download exclusives from Scott Mills and Westwood, webcam pictures of DJs in action, schedules, tracklistings, desktop pictures plus information on OneMusic and advice and support from OneLife.
