US memory manufacturer, Patriot Memory has announced the release of its new Extreme Performance and Dual Channel Ease Latency DDR2 1000MHz (pictured). They are aimed at overclockers and gamers.

Patriot says that its R2 1000 MHz (PC2-8000) module has been approved by Intel for use with its 955X chipset. The 240 pin module is available as either 512MB single or as a 1GB paired kit. The new memory modules are designed to operate at latency rating of CL 5-5-5-15 and at 2.2 volts.

They have also been fitted with a new aluminum heat shield design to improve heat dissipation when subjected to extreme over-clocking and high performance gaming applications.
