UK games chart: Madagascar finds its way back to the top 12:40PM, Tuesday 9th August 2005
Brian Lara has been deposed by the cartoon New York animals at the top of this week's ELSPA UK games chart.

Showing once again the power of the cinema when it comes to games releases, Activision's multi-format movie spin-off climbs back to the top. And the Charlie And The Chocolate Factory spin-off - despite critical maulings - bubbles up to number two. Again it is from Activision and runs on the GameBoy Advance, GameCube, PC, PS2 and Xbox.

Codemaster's cricket game for the PC, PS2 and Xbox - Brian Lara International Cricket 2005, to give it its full name - slips to number three.

The main climber in a quiet week is Codemaster's Worms 4: Mayhem and its worm-versus-worm gameplay. Available in PC, PS2 and Xbox formats, it wriggles - or slithers or whatever it is that worms do - up from 20 to 11.

The Sims 2 also re-enters the top 20,

up from 26 to number 18.

Getting format-specific, Battlefield 2 still remains in the number one spot for PC games, and Fantastic 4 pips Brian Lara International Cricket 2005 at the top of the PS2 pile. The cricket game, however, stays at the crease to top the Xbox chart.

Here is the all-format Top 20 in full (number of weeks in chart in brackets), for the week ending 6 August (full-price games):
