The research firm says that the mobile phone 'adult' market will amount to $1.01 billion in 2005 which is likely to double to over $2 billion by 2009.
Unusually, most of the growth in the market is likely to come from Europe and Asia. The authors feel that the growing conservative climate in the United States is likely to deter mobile operators from offering such services for fear of a regulatory backlash.
Nevertheless, Juniper expects that US customers will find a way to get adult content on their phones if they want it and says that is estimates that the North American market for mobile porn will be worth over $400 million by the end of the decade.
