Samsung develops motion-sensitive mobile phone 5:03PM, Wednesday 12th January 2005
Samsung has developed a motion-sensitive mobile phone, according to reports.

The SCH-S310 phone uses a six-axis sensor to detect motion and has been preprogrammed to recognise phone numbers written in the air.

That may be unnecessarily innovative for most of us, but there are other moves it has got down that make much more sense. For example, by shaking the phone, you can shake out all your spam messages, or at least have them deleted.

The South Korean company claims to have filed for 22 patents to protect its motion-sensitive technology.

The SCH-S310 phone will go on sale in Korea from March. There are no dates or prices as yet for the UK.
