UPDATED: Watford Electronics takes over the Carrera and Demonite brands
Posted on 12 Jan 2005 at 14:16
Watford Electronics has taken over Carrera SSC and Demonite, which worked under the parent company of Digital Networks.
Rumours were circulating of Carrera seeking administration, but it is believed that Watford Electronics has bought the brands.
Shiraz Jessa, MD of Watford Electronics confirmed today that the company was the new owner of the Carrera and Demonite brands and it would be honouring existing orders. However, it is not clear what the warranty situation is at the moment. Jessa said Watford Electronics would be sending out letters to customers within the next 10 days and it was likely they would be offered a two-year extended warranty for a 'nominal' price.
We understand that help and technical support lines are being maintained as usual, but an official announcement is still awaited.

Carrera Technology originally ceased trading in October 2000, but re-emerged as Carrera SSC.
