Amazon expands into online DVD rental 1:30PM, Thursday 9th December 2004
Amazon has expanded into the online DVD rental market. The e-commerce giant is offering six discs a month for a flat fee of £9.99.

Robin Terrell, Amazon.co.uk's country manager said, 'Our new DVD rental programme offers customers yet another convenient way to enjoy Amazon.co.uk's deep selection and unparalleled online experience. Since we already have their payment and billing information, the millions of existing Amazon.co.uk customers can sign up for the programme with just one click.'

For further details see www.amazon.co.uk/dvdrental.

Convenience may be Amazon's biggest draw, when compared with with other high-profile online rental services. Blockbuster and ScreenSelect will send you an unlimited number of DVDs each month for £13.99 and £14.99 respectively.
