Acrobat 7.0 Professional users can now include virtually anyone in an electronic review of a PDF document by enabling access to commenting tools in the Adobe Reader 7.0 software. Users can quickly provide feedback on a PDF file that consists of several content types - from scanned paper to spreadsheets, presentations, and now, 3D computer-aided design (CAD) content.

The Acrobat 7.0 family also provides enhanced integration with Adobe LiveCycle software, the company's product line for document services that connect people with business processes. The inclusion of Adobe LiveCycle Designer, the company's professional form design tool, with Acrobat 7.0 Professional provides users the ability to create sophisticated XML and PDF forms that can be integrated into back-end systems. Also, Acrobat 7.0 Professional and Acrobat 7.0 Standard are tightly integrated with Adobe LiveCycle Policy Server. The combination enables organisations to apply and manage document policies for helping control access, auditing, expiration, and revocation rights to a PDF document.

The software also provides more advanced control over engineering and design documents for technical and creative workgroups that rely on specialised software such as CAD and publishing applications.

Adobe has also announced Adobe Reader 7.0 (what used to be called Acrobat Reader), its company's free, universal client software. The product, which continues to deliver on the ability to reliably and print Adobe PDF files across various operating systems, hardware and mobile device platforms, now offers more powerful capabilities. Adobe Reader users can participate in document reviews, have Yahoo! Search capabilities at their fingertips

Acrobat 7.0 Professional will be integrated into Adobe Creative Suite Premium, alongside Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and GoLive. The addition of PDF correction tools to Acrobat 7.0 Professional corrects many common problems with print production PDF files. Tools to correct RGB colour, transparency, hairlines and printer's marks are now available in Acrobat 7.0 Professional. A powerful output preview tool allows users to see common output errors on screen, including CMYK black, ink coverage limits and separation previews.

Acrobat 7.0 Professional supports an expanded number of print standards so creative professionals can output Adobe PDF files reliably and consistently. Newly supported standards include JDF and the latest PDF/X specifications. JDF product definitions ensure accurate job submissions to Adobe PDF print workflow systems. PDF/X is an industry standard for graphic arts file exchange, which virtually eliminates the most common errors in file preparation.

Acrobat 7.0 Professional will be available for an estimated street price of £395 (ex. VAT) for Macintosh and Windows platforms. Registered users of Acrobat 4.0, Acrobat 5.0, Acrobat 6.0 Standard, or Acrobat 6.0 Professional can upgrade to Acrobat 7.0 Professional for an estimated street price of £135 (ex. VAT) for Macintosh and Windows platforms.

Full new versions of Adobe Creative Suite Premium 1.3 can be purchased for an estimated street price of £949 (ex. VAT). For an estimated street price of £139 (ex. VAT), registered Adobe Creative Suite Premium users can upgrade to Adobe Creative Suite Premium 1.3, which includes Acrobat 7.0 Professional. Users of Adobe Photoshop can upgrade to Adobe Creative Suite Premium 1.3 for an estimated street price of £565 (ex. VAT).
