Bulldog apologises for poor service 1:13PM, Thursday 23rd September 2004
Bulldog has stopped taking some new customer orders and issued a comprehensive apology for the network performance and customer support problems that have been plaguing it in recent weeks.

The ISP accepted that 'all aspects of our customer service have fallen well below the standards you and we demand', adding, 'Until recently our reputation for customer service was a source of pride for us.... We intend to win it back.`

Bulldog blamed its problems on the rapid growth that it has experienced in the last few months. In order to meet demand it had to supplement its LLU- and Datastream-based services by buying in IPStream capacity from BT. Due to an 'administrative error' the extra capacity has been delayed. The ISP has been told by BT that the extra capacity will be available by October 4th.

Bulldog, which was bought by Cable & Wireless earlier this year, has also employed 30 new support staff and fixed the phone system in its new office space.

Until all the problems are resolved the company will be taking no new IPStream-based orders.
